British alt-rock act Gorillaz is set to make its first world tour, according to a July 22 announcement. The band will tour through Europe, North America, Asia, Australia, and New Zealand in supported of recently released album Plastic Beach. The "Escape to Plastic Beach" world tour will include 20 shows in North America, including the band's first ever show at Madison Square Garden, as well as ten nights across Europe and seven shows in Australia and New Zealand. Shows in Asia, including a performance in Hong Kong, are also planned.
Gorillaz was previously scheduled to play several European dates from September through November; those dates have all been moved to November, with previous bookings for each city still valid, and extra European shows have been added on November 18 in Brighton and on November 22 in Antwerp.
